Spring Finals Weekend: A new level for Irish Esports

Ireland Esports Collegiate Series Spring Finals Weekend marked a significant but impeccably executed leap forward in event deliver.

The Ireland Esports Collegiate Series Spring Finals Weekend marked a significant but impeccably executed leap forward in event delivery. Partnering with Dogpatch Labs, the event expanded from its previous live studio setup to unlock a fully-fledged esports experience for players and supporters alike.

One of the standout moments came from a player of Queens University Belfast who remarked, "...this event was better than any LAN's I've played at in the UK," underscoring the exceptional quality of the event.

The weekend was structured around thrilling finals matches supported by live entertainment and fun activities for guests. Day 1 showcased finals for EAFC 24, Rocket League, and League of Legends, while Day 2 featured finals for Counter-Strike 2 and Valorant.

Monster Energy literally lit the place up (with some cool lighting) and welcomed guests with a 140 can towering display of cans, creating Dublin's first Monster Pyramid. When fans weren’t engrossed in the action they were also treated to Ri-Ra’s Kickeri Flickeri competition adding an extra layer of excitement to the event.

For players, the highlight was undoubtedly the new team rooms. Carefully crafted and near soundproof, these rooms provided each team with an optimal environment to compete in their allocated final. The rooms were equipped with top-of-the-line terminals and screens from GG Machines, ensuring that players could perform at their best.

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all, capacity was limited to 100 people per day in the venue. However, the excitement of the event reached far beyond the physical space, as the live broadcast was delivered across Twitch, YouTube, and X simultaneously - allowing fans from around the world to join in the excitement.

"As we reflect on the tremendous success of the Ireland Esports Collegiate Series Spring Finals Weekend, it's clear that we are laying a robust foundation for esports here in Ireland,” said Kurt Pittman, Founder & CEO of Nativz Gaming.

“This event signifies more than just thrilling competitions; it's a testament to the dedication and passion of our players, partners, and supporters. By expanding our reach and delivering a professional and top-class experience, we're not only elevating the esports scene in Ireland but also playing our role in shaping its future.”

He goes on to say, “This foundation will pave the way for greater opportunities, broader engagement, and continued growth, ensuring that Ireland becomes a vibrant hub for esports excellence."
