The development of esports in Ireland is about to take another leap forward as Legion Esports + Media and Nativz Gaming announce a ground-breaking strategic partnership. This partnership will see the existing Legion Collegiate Esports Series taken over by Nativz Gaming, with Legion Esports + Media e-commerce brand GamerStore.ie entering into a 3 year partnership with Nativz Gaming, Dublin’s original esports org.
As the start of the series approaches, it has also been confirmed that the team responsible for day-to-day management will remain in place for what will now be known as Nativz Collegiate Esports Series.
“We’re delighted to see the continued growth of student esports in Ireland, and we’re looking forward to working with Nativz Gaming as they take over this exciting student esports series,” said Legion Esports + Media CEO Stuart Dempsey. “By aligning our retail brand GamerStore.ie with Nativz Gaming we see a great opportunity to continue to support the Irish gaming community and in particular the student esports community.”
Nativz Gaming Co-Founder & Chairperson Kurt Pittman goes on to say, “I’d like to thank Stuart and the Legion team as we look forward to a great mutual partnership, ultimately ensuring a really exciting future for student esports in Ireland. We’ve also been really impressed with the commitment from Yannick, Ronan and Sam as leaders in the collegiate esports scene to ensure there’s stability for the existing community as we get ready for the upcoming series”.
“We’re really excited by this unique opportunity to support the continued growth of collegiate esports in Ireland and welcoming everyone associated to the series into our Nativz community.”
